Produced by NPR and started in 2016, “How I Built This” is a podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs, idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built. Guests have included founders and leaders across industries, from Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger of Instagram, to Patagonia’s Yvon Chouinard and Briogeo’s Nancy Twine. The latest episode features our very own Drew Houston. Drew spoke with host Guy Raz about Dropbox’s path from an idea he had on the bus, to the company it is today, and what’s yet to come.

“I think about it like surfing, that waves will come. And in our case, we caught this tidal wave,” said Drew in the interview. “But inevitably that wave slows down, and it’s about catching another one. There’s luck in terms of when and how any given wave shows up and where you on your board, but there’s also a lot of skill in staying on and finding the right wave. That matters a lot.”
